I've been a bit absent from here as I spent the Spring school holidays getting ready to move: sorting, decluttering, rearranging, packing etc only to find out that the buyer of the flat had pulled out. We were so close to completion too! Needless to say, I was heartbroken and it has taken me a little while to begin to accept it and adjust. One day soon the right person will come along and we will be able to move. For now, I'm keeping on keeping on. Saying goodbye March with some close ups of #scrolloftheyear . I struggled last month and so I stitched myself a meadow. March's story or realisation is that creativity enables us to channel the beauty inside of us, even when we can't see it or feel it. The act of creating something, bringing light from within to without, tells us that it is not all darkness. When I see my work, I see hope, joy and a spark of determination reflected back at me. I did something a little bit different this month for #scrolloftheyear . I've been struggling with my mental health and small everyday joys have been elusive. My joy in creativity prevails however and I felt what I needed to feel, gave myself the gift of some peaceful stitching and embroidered myself a meadow. You can read a little bit more on the blog. March #scrolloftheyear is ready to be stitched, which is a win for me as it's still March! March sketches... 'Bloom' is out in the world! Thank you so much for your orders 🤗 Today, I'm over on the blog sharing some stitch suggestions and tips for using your dissolvable embroidery patches. For these 👆🏾 I have used the patches to stitch onto fabric which has been fused to wool felt. I'm going to use some of them as card and tag toppers I think. They'd also make pretty brooches and little hangings. So many possibilities! 'Bloom', my first stick and stitch dissolvable embroidery patches pack is now available in my new shop! This pack has been inspired by the wonders of flowers and nature and contains 10 designs - 9 hand-drawn imagined botanicals and 1 word. The largest is approximately 9 x 11cm, the smallest about 6 x 2cm. Included in the pack are brief instructions on how to use the patches and a visual gallery of the designs. There are so many possibilities with stick and stitch embroidery! Keep an eye on my blog and instagram for stitch tips, project ideas and tutorials. If you have any questions, please do get in touch. I've so enjoyed stitching up this book to illustrate the stitck and stitch dissolvable embroidery patches I have designed. 'Bloom' launches tomorrow 8am, in my new online shop on my very own website. Technology is not my fave so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly! 9 hand-drawn botanicals and 1 word stitched up into a lovely book to illustrate 'Bloom', my first stick and stitch dissolvable embroidery patches pack, available Friday.
