Art journal pages..."beautiful, new making". I'm really enjoying this new (to me) process and beginning to understand which combinations of colours, forms, textures and images bring me joy and balance. I'm excited to use stencils in my practice and I'm designing my own to use on paper and fabric, which I hope to share with you soon. Have a good day loves 🌸 "I won't abandon myself" - my mantra for 2023 and beyond. I am regularly writing in my thought journal, but I also find it helpful to summarise, to reflect and focus in on where I am in life and work, what feelings are surfacing, how I'm dealing with them and what my current intentions are. You can find a new post on my blog via the link in my profile where I share my news and musings with you. This is a truthful reflection of where I find myself, which I have chosen to share. If anything you read resonates with you, I am sending you so much love and warmth. I feel you. Please know that although I am always grateful for empathy, love, connection and understanding in response to the things I share, I am not looking for answers, advice or solutions, however well intentioned. Thank you kindly 💕🌸 Crochet and garden bluebells....I got back into crochet during my part time job. I was quite often amongst the yarn when I was working in the haberdashery department and it inspired me to pick it up again. I began crocheting in my breaks and now I'm hooked so to speak! This is going to be a granny square shawl. Made with @rowanyarns creative linen, it will be just right for Summer evenings. Have a good day loves 💕 I've been spending some time doodling shapes and forms inspired by nature and the seasons. I've drawn these onto self-adhesive sticky kraft paper, which I am hoping to use in my art journalling and in other ways too. It's such a meditative pastime - I highly recommend a good doodle! Have a good day loves 💕💕💕 There has been so much uncertainty and change in my life recently. Through it all, I have continued to use creativity to calm, to channel my feelings and to start to heal. I have begun an art journalling practice, which is frustrating me and exciting me in equal measure. I'm enjoying the process of finding my own way and learning to let go. These watercolour pages I painted made me so happy so I'm sharing them with you 😊 Hello loves, popping by to simply say hi and I'm still here. Lots of love to you 💕 A few days of downtime from work calls for slow making. I have some knitting on the go (a couple of years so far!), I made these Christmas decorations from fabric I felted and embroidered and I have a few little projects I'm hoping to complete. I wish you much warmth and love this Winter solstice lovelies. Happy Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 Experiments in stencilling part 2: Stencilled kingfisher on watercolour on paper. This one feels promising. I think some experimentation with the background colour is next but I love the result and the possibilities! Happy Tuesday lovelies 💕🎄 Experiments in stencilling part 1: These kingfishers have been so enjoyable to create! Stencilling is definitely my new fave. The aim was to make these into Christmas decorations to pop into my shop but time has run out this year and that's ok. Let's just say I'm ahead on Christmas 2023! Have a good day loves 🕊
