April's reminders to look back on and to take forward. Do any of them resonate? Head over my blog to read about how I arrived at these life lessons. Sending love 💗 April #scrolloftheyear : Things to remember. These came out of a thought journalling session when I was feeling low about the flat sale falling through and anxious about my small business. I love that I can look back on these statements in the scroll and that they will also remind me of the strength I found to keep going. Roses from the garden and flower stitched by hand. The background was created by hand printing onto organdie in blue and gold using little brush strokes. The organdie was then adhered to wool felt. You can find this floral design in my 'Bloom' stick and stitch embroidery patches pack. I've been a bit absent from here as I spent the Spring school holidays getting ready to move: sorting, decluttering, rearranging, packing etc only to find out that the buyer of the flat had pulled out. We were so close to completion too! Needless to say, I was heartbroken and it has taken me a little while to begin to accept it and adjust. One day soon the right person will come along and we will be able to move. For now, I'm keeping on keeping on. Saying goodbye March with some close ups of #scrolloftheyear . I struggled last month and so I stitched myself a meadow. March's story or realisation is that creativity enables us to channel the beauty inside of us, even when we can't see it or feel it. The act of creating something, bringing light from within to without, tells us that it is not all darkness. When I see my work, I see hope, joy and a spark of determination reflected back at me. I did something a little bit different this month for #scrolloftheyear . I've been struggling with my mental health and small everyday joys have been elusive. My joy in creativity prevails however and I felt what I needed to feel, gave myself the gift of some peaceful stitching and embroidered myself a meadow. You can read a little bit more on the blog. March #scrolloftheyear is ready to be stitched, which is a win for me as it's still March! March sketches... 'Bloom' is out in the world! Thank you so much for your orders 🤗 Today, I'm over on the blog sharing some stitch suggestions and tips for using your dissolvable embroidery patches. For these 👆🏾 I have used the patches to stitch onto fabric which has been fused to wool felt. I'm going to use some of them as card and tag toppers I think. They'd also make pretty brooches and little hangings. So many possibilities!
