Stay tuned for more ideas coming up soon. I've made a few vintage bird and fish embroidered pieces using the fabric strips which launch tomorrow morning. See yesterday's post to see all the sweet birds featured and come back soon to see what I do with this stitched creation and others I've made. Vintage bird illustrations on fabric strips for use in your fabric, paper and art journalling projects will be available this Friday, 23rd October. Tune back in tomorrow for just one example of how to use them. Please see below for product information. I'm testing out some fabric fish I have had printed on to fabric and so they are beginning to make their way into my collages! They are such characterful and fun additions I think. How the fish align when the squares are put together is just delightful to me! I'm also a bird and botanical lover as you may know, both of which have featured in my creative endeavours over the years. What imagery are you drawn to? I poured my heart and thousands of stitches into my Scroll of the Year project, learning so much along the way, about myself and my artistic process. You can read an update on the blog today. Big thanks to my youngest for helping me to film the unravelling scroll! The machine stitched leaf toppers I created recently work really well as flowers too! Other collage elements I have used here are vintage papers, hand printed organdie and postcards printed onto photo fabric, joined with gold thread. A new fabric collage in the making, testing out some vintage natural history imagery, such as these fish, which I have adapted and had printed on fabric. I am hoping to make them available as fabric strips which can be used in all sorts of projects, both paper and fabric based. More details soon!
