Dear lovelies
How are you? Are you well? I do hope so. Thanks so much for popping by and thanks again for all of your lovely comments and support so far.
I love June. It is my birth month and it reminds me of birthday parties in our garden in London when I was young. I recollect that the sun was always shining on my birthday when I was little but I am sure this is not the case! But the memory is lovely anyway. This year I have turned 44 and time is racing by. It seems like Spring has just sprung and yet we are about to welcome in the Summer.
Spring is my favourite season and it seems I have loved this time of year since I was a little girl. When I was about 7 or 8 I think, I wrote a poem, which my lovely Mum has kept ever since…..
I am the Spring
I send beauty to the world
the flowers come blooming out of the ground
all that I need is love
just inside my heart
I think about spreading my light
For me Spring means hope, new growth, beauty and light. As Winter draws to a close, we begin to really feel the sun’s warmth on our faces and skin again, and our world gradually starts to thaw. The earth shows the telltale signs that we are going to be treated to a riot of colour in just a few weeks, as brave little shoots appear. We begin to prepare our gardens, tidying and fussing over precious new growth and hoping our seeds will sprout on sunny windowsills. The blossom trees treat us to little buds of joy, just waiting for the right time to unfurl giving us such beautiful displays of floral abundance.
And then the colour really starts to appear, the sun really starts to shine and our Winter coats are banished to the back of the wardrobe out of sight lest they remind us of colder times. We spend more time in our garden and in the great outdoors exploring, larking about and finding beauty in our city and beyond. We top up our depleted levels of vitamin D, we feel healthier and free. What joy and what fun! My family and I are definitely Spring bunnies!
The Spring has brought me great happiness this year. I have been out with my camera so many times, with the family or on my own to capture it’s joy. So as we say goodbye to the Spring and herald in the Summer, I am sharing my ‘best of Spring’ pics with you. You may want to grab a cuppa or perhaps an elderflower cordial…..
A bounty of bulbs….
Blossoming trees….
Birdy love….
Floral abundance and colour aplenty….
And my Dad’s rose, planted in his memory, blooming each Spring to remind us of him….
Sigh…..there is so much beauty to behold in nature. There is something extra special about these photos for me. Every single one was taken in my city. It is so important for us, living in such a busy, polluted and densely populated environment, to find areas, sights and moments of beauty. Luckily for us, London provides.
Until next time lovelies, take care and lots of love.
Onwards……
