We're taking all the time we need to adjust to this new normal (although it still doesn't feel normal at all and I really don't think it ever could!) and we're trying not to be too hard on ourselves. Last week was a bit of a shock and this week we're just putting one foot in front of the other as we are looking after Mr P too. One activity which has been a bit of a life saver and which we have enjoyed doing together is doodling: Putting pen/pencil to paper, with no rules, no such things as mistakes and filling up a page with shapes, lines, patterns and real or imaginary forms. I would highly recommend it to soothe and calm during this difficult time. You don't need drawing experience (I promise) and I know this sounds like a cliché but it really is about the process! This doodle was all about Spring (although you don't need to follow a theme) and my next is going to be about leaves from the garden. If I can get some doodling done each week, I'll be happy! #stayathomeanddoodle . . Much love sweet peas. My current embroidery in progress. I'm thinking an abundance of happy Spring blooms will do nicely right now. I'm stitching in between helping the kids with their school work and all the other activities that will occupy me with 3 kids at home! For some reason I thought I'd have more time to work on my business. Silly me! They are doing about 2 hours of actual school work and the rest is all about creativity, exercise, rest, garden and some screen time too. How have your days changed lovelies? After a slightly fraught day on Saturday when I think we all felt a little stressed about the state of things, yesterday our kids woke up at silly o'clock so we grabbed the opportunity to head to one of our local parks to get some fresh air and exercise before anyone else was there. I soaked up the early morning sunshine, the daffs, the blossom and other pretties and arrived home full of Spring joy. I am determined to enjoy Spring, albeit in a different way this year. I have every intention to continue creating what it inspires me to make. I have so many pictures from previous years to remind me of the joys of Spring, even if we can't go to our favourite places in the city and beyond to enjoy it. The kids will be off school from this afternoon and although there will be challenges, we are lucky to be well so far and we are looking forward to family time, with some structure to keep everyone sane and happy. I am sending much love to you all. The coming weeks are not going to be easy for anyone. Let's do what we can to protect those who are vulnerable now and those who were vulnerable before this virus even began, such as the beautiful Nancy @avocadofairy who no longer has access to her chemotherapy treatment. A wreath made of rosemary and bay - two herbs I would highly recommend growing if you have a garden or balcony. They need little attention, they are easy to dry and are great additions to the herb cupboard. Our rosemary bush is flourishing and flowering right now, which is attracting the bees, the sight of which is hugely soothing! I'm so grateful today for our little garden, for new growth, for sunshine and for my hands which help me create what is in my head.
