July was all kinds of busy! Was it for you? I know here in the UK it was definitely all kinds of hot. Unbelievably, the heat wave went on and on and made things just a little bit harder to achieve, our gardens a bit drier than normal and outdoor living all the more possible. Do read last week’s post to find out 10 ways my family and I are celebrating and being present this Summer.

This month, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a wonderful hashtag over on instagram: CRAFTINGISMYTHERAPY_JULY. The host of this brilliant hashtag is Nicola of ‘Me, You and Magoo’. It celebrates the benefits of crafting as a means of improving our mental health and well being. You can read more about the thinking behind the hashtag on Nicola’s blog here.

I just love this piece of embroidery that Nicola created. So very seasonal!…

The hashtag is also about community and I for one, have been hugely inspired by all the wonderful pics posted to the hashtag this month. With that community in mind and the power of promoting and celebrating other Creatives’ work, I have collated some pictures, which caught my eye and which I am sure you will enjoy. All photos are taken by the makers themselves and they have been tagged below. Although this is an instagram project, I have linked to the maker’s websites if there is one, so that you can read all about these lovelies! Please do go check out their websites/instagram feeds!

Don’t they just inspire you to get your crochet hooks, embroidery thread and needles (insert other tools here) out? I am following all of these fab makers, some of whom I found through the hashtag and some of whom have been familiar to me for a while. A hashtag that inspires and connects is worth following don’t you think?

I managed some crafting too last month. I finished off my suffragette banners, which you can read all about here and here

I created an embroidered wreath for A Touch of Kind, which you can read about here

And I doodled on the cover of our family holiday gratitude journal which you can read about here. I loved doing this!…

Thanks so very much for asking me to co-host #CRAFTINGISMYTHERAPY_JULY Nicola! I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Here’s to community and here’s to crafting and it’s therapeutic benefits!

Well lovelies, I have lots of makes planned but it might be September before I really get going with them. I have every intention of enjoying August with my family at home, with a little bit of crafting on the side!

See you in a few weeks!

Take good care, lots of love,
